Joe Cusimano

Joe Cusimano is an aviation maintenance professional whose career includes more than twenty years of experience with airlines, aircraft, and engine manufacturers, with a focus on large fleet turbine engine program management including maintenance, planning, sparing, and budgeting. His current responsibilities include managing all technical aspects of Jetstream’s diverse portfolio of engines, both those in our standalone leasing pools and on-wing with aircraft, as well as engines in our in-house and retail maintenance management programs. Joe also interfaces with OEM and aftermarket repair facilities and engine manufacturers including General Electric, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce.

Immediately prior to joining Jetstream, he served as Senior Manager of Powerplant Engineering for low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines, a FAR Part 121 operator of Airbus A319/A320/A321 aircraft, where he was responsible for the technical management of engine programs and support requirements for more than 200 Airbus aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney V2500 and PW1100 engines. Previously, he was Powerplant Manager for regional carrier Silver Airways, a FAR Part 121 operator of Saab 340 and next-generation ATR42/72-600 aircraft. A critical part of Silver’s operations, he was responsible for engine fleet management as well as directing the daily activities of a staff of 35 aviation maintenance technicians. His experience also includes roles of increasing responsibility with Avantair, an FAR Part 135 on-demand operator of corporate aircraft, and Honda Aero, manufacturer of the HF120 Honda Jet. Joe began his aviation career as an aircraft engine technician with Pratt & Whitney in 2001.

Joe is a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he worked on Pratt & Whitney engines in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He holds an FAA Mechanic Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, and is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, from which he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Management.
